In general, a woman has five treatment options for breast cancer which include:

• Surgery
• Radiation therapy (also called radiotherapy)
• Chemotherapy
• Hormone therapy
• Biological therapies.

However, a combination treatment strategy is most often used. The type of treatment also depends on the stage of the cancer.
