Driving Change, Delivering Hope. Roche’s commitment towards awareness & patient impact this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Behind every woman’s fight against breast cancer is a story of courage and hope. At Roche Pharma India, we’re proud to stand with her—raising awareness, encouraging early action, and working to ensure every woman gets the care she deserves to live a long and fulfilling life.

This October, observed globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, was an ode to every woman fighting breast cancer — a reminder that her story is unique, and her journey counts. For Roche Pharma India, October 2025 was more than just a month of awareness; it was a month of impact, inspiration, and intent. Through powerful storytelling, credible medical voices, and meaningful collaborations, we reinforced a message that cannot be said enough — #HerTimeMatters.

The message found a powerful echo in the media, helping take themes of awareness, early detection, and hope to audiences across the country.

Among the many voices that helped carry this message forward was Dr. Niti Raizada (Principal Director - Medical Oncology, Fortis Hospital, Bangalore), who reminds us why awareness and early action truly matter. “I have seen a steady rise in HER2+ breast cancer cases over the years. Because this form of cancer can be aggressive, early detection becomes absolutely crucial. Regular self-examination and timely screening can make all the difference—allowing doctors to diagnose early, begin treatment sooner, and greatly improve outcomes.”

Echoing this thought, Dr. Meenu Walia (the first DNB-qualified Medical Oncologist in India and Vice Chairman of Medical Oncology, Max Vaishali and Noida), further highlights the importance of targeted therapies and timely intervention in improving outcomes for women. “Traditional chemotherapy attacks many fast-growing cells, both healthy and cancerous. Targeted therapies, on the other hand, focus more precisely on the cancer itself, which can help reduce side effects. Modern treatments should help patients live, not just survive.”

Awareness finds its deepest impact when it’s personal. In partnership with Tweak India, a digital-first, women-centric platform, a heartfelt content series —  “Her Time Matters” was launched that shed light on the strength, courage, and resilience of women navigating breast cancer.

Through compelling videos, reels, and articles, the series invited audiences to pause and listen — to stories of survival, science, and hope. Leading oncologists shared clear, credible insights on recognizing early signs and choosing the right treatment paths, while breast cancer survivors opened up about their journeys — from diagnosis to recovery — revealing what it truly means to fight, heal, and live with purpose.

As Vrinda Vinod Thakkar, a fitness coach who overcame her worst fears while fighting breast cancer puts it, “Cancer isn’t a dead end, it’s just a pause.”

And we at Roche Pharma India believe early detection can transform that pause into possibility — giving women not just more time, but the strength to reclaim their lives and continue their journey with renewed courage. Because every pause deserves a powerful comeback.
